The case I Choose My Food contains seven small flip charts, ‘menu turners,’ with a total of 200 laminated cards with 400 photos of ‘raw’ food products on one side and prepared products on the other. By placing products such as meat, vegetables and pasta, for example, in a separate ‘menu turner’ by category, clients can browse through the cards and choose for themselves the components for a hot meal, thus creating their own menu. In this way, they gain more influence over their menu choices. The flip charts with picture cards, placed side by side, can display a chosen menu. The cards also invite conversations about meal choices, what a person likes and dislikes, and possibly what is healthy and less healthy. The cards are divided into the following themes: Meat, Fish, Vegetables, Vegetarian, Salads, Starchy (such as potatoes, rice, pasta), Dishes (composite casseroles, such as stew and chili con carne).
