Together with various stakeholders, Barry Emons was able to realize a beautiful sensory snoozing room in the Prinses Máxima Center in Utrecht. From beginning to end, there was close consultation between both parties to achieve the best end result.
The Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology is a unique center where all the highly complex care and research for children with cancer comes together. The Princess Máxima Center’s wish was to create a sensory snoozing area in addition to all the wonderful existing facilities such as an indoor playground, chill rooms, exercise rooms and a sports hall. For this the knowledge and expertise of Barry Emons was called in.
From advice to realization
After an extensive consultation and a visit to Barry Emons’ showroom in Zeeland, province of Brabant, the designs were created through a close joint approach, which were later worked out into the final result.

The sensory snoozing room has become a place where the children can relax in a dosed manner. In addition, the senses can also be stimulated, creating a piece of safety, peace and distraction between all the investigations.
Guidance and training
In addition to the design process and practical realization, Barry Emons also provides an extensive aftercare program. The use of the snoozle room is supervised and, in addition, various training opportunities are also available.
